Leather Cleaning and Restoration
Leather looks and feels special when it is cared for properly. We help restore softness, colour and a natural sheen to sofas and chairs, with methods that respect the material and the dyes used. Each piece is inspected first so we understand its finish and past care. Oils and grime are lifted gently, moisture is controlled throughout and the surface is conditioned so it feels supple again. Where colour has thinned on edges or cushions we can carry out tidy touch ups that blend in naturally.
What We Work On
We clean and restore finished, semi-aniline and aniline leather on modern and older pieces. Common issues include body oils that darken headrests and arm fronts, colour transfer from clothing, surface cracking from dryness, dye fade in sunny rooms and light scuffs and scratches.
Pigment (fully finished) leather is deep cleaned to lift ingrained oils and dye transfer, then reconditioned with a durable topcoat so the colour looks even again. Nubuck is treated with very low moisture methods, gentle dry soil removal and nubuck erasers, followed by a protector to help resist future marks. Aniline is cleaned with care to preserve the open pore look, then nourished with appropriate conditioners and, where needed, subtle dye work to even fade.
Semi aniline gets a balanced clean that respects the light pigment layer, with targeted de-greasing on contact areas and tidy colour touch-ins for scuffs. If stitching or panels are delicate, we adjust the process so everything is handled with care, and we can advise on minor repairs such as filling small nicks and re-colouring worn piping so the furniture looks cared for rather than tired.
